Nothing like a bit of
Love Actually to get you into the mood at Christmas...I've just got back from being paid to watch it with some students...what a wonderful 2 hours that was! I forgot how much I love this film, especially at this time of year. It is so feel good and bitter sweet and it actually made me yearn for London with all its iconic views (good thing I'm heading there this weekend for our university Christmas meal in Islington!).
Richard Curtis has a wonderful knack of capturing all the best bits about being British -even if it is a bit idyllic in parts.
This week we'll also start watching Home Alone with my general English class...and we have our class Christmas dinner tomorrow followed by our staff occasion on Friday...its going to be a busy week! But hopefully fun. Just hope my stomach keeps quiet...xxx
P.S. Interesting random fact but noticed as we watched the film with subtitles just how much the word 'actually' gets used. I think each character says it at some point...clever little detail!

Haha! This Saturday one of my housemates and I put up our Christmas tree and decorations and then drank wine and ate mince pies and watched Love Actually because it's the only Christmas film we have.
I've totally never realised that Actually thing though - I'm clearly going to have to re-watch it for the 30 billionth time!
I've ALWAYS noticed the number of 'actually's in that film... especially the little boy! :) Now you've made me want to watch it again too!
We at the Heartshaped Household agree totally that this is a marvellous Christmas film! I watched Home alone the other week too! Just catching up with you - Bristol looks great. Ive never visited properly, but Ive passed through loads and it always looks really interesting with a lot going on. Take Care. xxxxx
This is one of the best christmas movies ever! Happy New Year!
