I don't have a lot to write about today. Work is going well, I seem to have more free time than ever and life is very pleasant. My brother is coming out for Easter and we plan to visit the Pyrenees and Toulouse and following that a good friend from Uni is also visiting for a long weekend. I don't have much room for complaint.
At work, in a few weeks time we all need to give our director some indication as to our plans for next year - to stay or to go. I feel pretty confident of my decision at present having thought it through carefully. I need to think about summer work back in the UK but I am mid-way through completing an application form as I write.
This weekend Carnival begins. Already I have been making masks with the little ones and playing games. Expect some photos of the spectacle here in Tarragona over the weekend. There is also parents evening next week during class time so there is less to plan.
So...what is a girl to blog about when she's lost for ideas? Well, I'd been meaning to do a post on some of my favourite quotes and also others I'd picked up from around the web so this is what I am going to do. I love quotes. Little bite-sized pieces of wisdom and ideas to reflect on. Happy, hopeful pills for easing one's inner mental aches and pains.
The first few are not my favourites, I pinched them from another excellent website full of delicious home cooked recipes and wisdom: A Year From Oak Cottage which I visited only yesterday for I had not been there for a while.
The rest from here on in I have just picked up along the way... (probably from my dad's website and books)
"To be nobody but yourself in a world that's doing its best to make you somebody else, is to fight the hardest battle you are ever going to fight. Never stop fighting." E.E. Cummings
"Our thinking and our behavior are always in anticipation of a response. It is therefore fear-based." Depak Chopra
"I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. " Albert Einstein
"Argument is meant to reveal the truth, not to create it." Edward De Bono
"Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding." Kahlil Gibran
"There is more to life than increasing its speed." Mahatma Ghandi
"Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them." Henry David Thoreau
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference." Robert Frost

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow-lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
